About
Tuna tartare is the perfect dish for anyone looking to enjoy fresh, vibrant flavors with minimal effort. With its delicate, sushi-grade tuna, zesty lime, and the perfect balance of capers, mustard, and Tabasco sauce, this dish is as refreshing as it is elegant. A true restaurant-level appetizer, it brings sophistication to your dining table, whether you’re hosting a dinner party or enjoying a special meal at home.
Note: This dish must be made using only ahi or sushi-grade tuna, as other types of tuna are not safe to eat raw.

Serves: 4

Cook time: 10 min

Difficulty: easy
Ingredients

- 2 slices (310g) ahi or sushi-grade tuna
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon capers, drained
- 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (Dijon recommended)
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 3 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
Step-by-step
1
Dice the ahi or sushi-grade tuna into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Keep the tuna chilled until you’re ready to prepare the tartare.

2
Chop the chives and add them to the bowl with the diced tuna.

3
Add the salt, black pepper, capers, mustard, Tabasco sauce, lime zest, and the juice of one lime to the bowl.

4
Gently toss all the ingredients together to coat the tuna evenly. Be careful not to mash the tuna; it should remain firm and retain its cubed shape.

5
Plate the tartare using a ring mold for a refined presentation, or simply spoon it onto a serving dish. Garnish with extra chives and capers, if desired.

6
For the best flavor and texture, serve the tuna tartare immediately with your favorite crackers.
